Kära Margit, jag kommer aldrig att glömma dig, din kärlek och ditt fantastiska engagemang för de fattiga och utstötta i Indien och Sri Lanka. Även om vi inte haft så mycket kontakt de senaste åren, så vet jag att du kämpade med din sjukdom och smärta. Ibland skickade du något fint handmålat kort och skrev så rara hälsningar. Trots din smärta och dina begränsningar i vad du kunde göra, så var du ändå så positiv, "jag kan i alla fall vissla och skratta fortfarande". En sann eldsjäl har fått somna in. Vila i frid kära Margit ❤️

Thank you for your inspiration and welcome so that Friends of Smyrna Home in the UK has been able to introduce so many young people (and old!) to serving the poor in India and bringing hope to those in need.

Fina Margit, nu har du fått komma till vår Far i himmelen. All smärta är borta och nu har du bara Guds Kärlek och Frid runt dig. Jag är glad att du fått möta min mamma igen. Ni var fina vänner och Du och din familj var en del av min uppväxt. Att få växa upp med vetskapen att alla inte är lika lyckligt lottade som jag och att vi kan hjälpa andra har jag ditt och sedan också mammas engagemang att tacka för. Sri Lanka och arbetet ni gjorde var alltid närvarande hos oss i Mellerud. Det finns så många goda minnen och jag bevarar dem för alltid i mitt hjärta. Tack för allt du har betytt!

Dear Sister, I want to write a few lines to you, Sister, though you cannot read or listen. I pour out my heart in what I have to say finally to you in these few lines. Always I expect calls from you. When I pick up your call, I can hear a loving voice… Kumari… you start talking about so many things; in all of it, your strong advices are never forgotten. You never call only to know about the Smyrna work; you had loving concern toward our family. At a time when we were neglected with so many worries, we never knew where to turn; at that time, you were there to listen to me. Not only did you listen to me, but you also acted to help me and my children when we were left in this world alone after my husband’s death and also my mother’s death. These memories never fade away. When I think hereafter, there won’t be such telephone calls… my heart breaks. I want to express deep gratitude for the godly influence, unwavering support, and sacrificial love you have shown to me. Thank you for being a guiding mother and a leader in my life. You had belief in me. You are not my mother by birth but a mother by heart. Thank you for stepping into my life with so much love, just as Christ loves us. You are a remarkable mother who truly embodied God’s love. Heaven has gained a beautiful soul. We thank God for your life and the love you shared. Your kindness and warmth will never leave our hearts forever. May your soul rest in peace. From your ever-loving Kumari & Children. Losing you, my dearest best friend Margit, feels impossible to bear. Your legacy of loving the poor and serving quietly will always shine. God in heaven saw every good thing you did. You were special in ways words can’t explain, but every life you touched knew it. May God hold you close until we meet again in the peace of the One who called you home!! Thank you for everything and I'm so grateful and will always love you and miss you!! I cherish and treasure all the beautiful memories we made!! See you on the other side.
